Dr Leon de Klerk
Leon bought this practice in 2003 after moving his family to the Western Cape. Before that, they lived and worked in Canada for many years. He believes that life only really starts when you shift your focus from yourself to others and it is this belief that motivates him and the people that work with him to go the extra mile for their patients. It is important for him that each patient experience a stress-free and warm visit every time they come to see him as their doctor. Leon loves sport and motorcycle riding. He enjoys spending time with his family. His wife and three boys are his top priority, and he includes extended family and friends often in his social life.
Dr. Tarine Odendaal
Dr. Tarine started doing locum work at Dr. de Klerk’s practice beginning 2022 and then joined the team on a permanent basis in April 2022. She grew up on a farm just outside of Bloemfontein. She also went to school and University, in Bloemfontein, before moving to the beautiful Stellenbosch in 2018.
She shares that there comes a point where all of us need some extra help to take care of ourselves, – either physically, mentally, or spiritually. Being in a position where she can be that hand when needed, makes her cup full.
For her, Dr. de Klerk’s practice, is all about a holistic approach to each and every patient. Your current condition matters, but your overall health also matters. We want to go the extra mile. The team is amazing and it is an honour to be serving the community next to them.
In her free time she loves to spend time with her family! She love discovering new places with them, going on outdoor adventures. Currently, this is mostly limited to aquariums, train rides, park visits, and any play zone.
Corene Williams
Receptionist
Corene is the stalwart of the practice and a true Stellenboscher. Her 32 years of experience in the medical industry speaks loudly of her passion to take care of people, helping, and assisting patients, and overall, her love for people. In her own words “What makes the practice different is the love and trust we built with our patients during the years, and with my fellow employees. We value great service and go the extra mile to satisfy our patients.” In her free time, Corene enjoys exploring all the beautiful gems the Cape has to offer. She loves spending time with her family and her mother and father still spoil her with baked delicatessens and awesome coffee, when they enjoy each other’s company.
Adri Katts
Receptionist
Adri joined the practice in 2021. She believes every patient/person has a different life story. In her own words, “you can learn so much from people. You just need to treat each one the same, because you never know what is going on in that person’s life”. Working with Dr. Leon de Klerk was the best choice she ever made. In her free time, she likes to play hockey and have fun with her family and friends. She believes we must enjoy each day as if it is our last day on earth.
